Pairs in Pears is word game from the company Bananagrams, which was first created back in 2006 by an extremely talented man called Abe Nathanson. Abe wanted to create the perfect word game for his family. At the age of seventy-six Abe did just that when he invented Bananagrams. During his earlier life he had succeeded in many amazing jobs, such as an author and illustrator for many childrens books. We recently got given the chance to try out three of the games from the Bananagrams growing range of word games and this is by far my favourite one.
Pairs in Pears is a great game for 1-4 players and is suitable for players as young as three years old right up to adulthood. The tiles come in four different patterns, solid, outlined, dotted and striped. Because of the patterns, Pairs in Pears can be used in a numerous amount of ways. From matching pattern groups to learning your alphabet. As well as the two competitive word games to play, there are four different activities aimed for pre-readers, as well as four separate activities for beginner readers.
Overall we have really enjoyed playing Pairs in Pears. I love how versatile it is, I can sit down with either or both of my children and play several of activities with them. We have hours of fun using this game and can't wait to see what the future holds for exciting new games from the Bananagrams range.
